Discover the 2027 Nissan Z: A Sports Car Legacy Continues

Some model-year updates are minor. The 2027 Nissan Z is not one of them. The Z NISMO now offers a six-speed manual transmission, an addition enthusiasts have long asked for. It arrives alongside brake hardware derived from the GT-R, suspension updates for the Performance grade, and heritage-inspired details across the lineup.

Twin Turbos Keep 400 HP Ready

At the centre of the 2027 Nissan Z Sport and Performance is a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 producing 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Power goes to the rear wheels, keeping the classic front-engine, rear-wheel-drive sports-car formula intact. Drivers can pair that power with either a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic transmission. Manual Sport and Performance models are rated at 13.4 L/100 km city and 10.0 L/100 km highway, while automatic versions are rated at 12.3 L/100 km city and 8.6 L/100 km highway.

NISMO Finally Gets Three Pedals

This is the update that changes the NISMO conversation. The 2027 Nissan Z NISMO is now available with a six-speed manual transmission, featuring a shorter shift-lever ratio and upgraded clutch. Nissan pairs it with the NISMO-enhanced engine, suspension, braking, and bodywork to create a more direct connection between driver and car. The nine-speed automatic remains available too, so the NISMO formula is no longer tied to a single transmission.

GT-R Brakes Shed 19 Pounds

Nissan borrowed some serious hardware for the 2027 Nissan Z NISMO. Every NISMO now receives two-piece iron-aluminum brake rotors derived from the Nissan GT-R, which reduce weight by 19 pounds. Revised cooling channels are designed to keep brake-pad temperatures lower during track driving. Meanwhile, the Z Performance receives larger-diameter shock absorbers for 2027, aimed at improving damping capability and stability.

Eight Inches Keeps Tech Within Reach

Inside, the Sport grade includes an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, SiriusXM, voice recognition, USB Type-A and Type-C connections, and a six-speaker audio system. The Performance grade builds on that setup with an eight-speaker Bose audio system, Active Noise Cancellation, Active Sound Enhancement, NissanConnect services, and available connected functionality. The cabin keeps technology close without letting screens become the whole personality of the car.

Performance Gets a Heritage Twist

The Sport and Performance grades pick up a heritage-inspired refresh for 2027. A body-colour bar now divides the grille opening, while a new Z emblem replaces the Nissan badge on the nose across all grades. The Performance model also receives redesigned 19-inch forged wheels, and Shinkai Green Pearl Metallic joins the colour palette with a Super Black roof. A tan interior upholstery option is also newly available for the Performance grade.
